ReclooseことMatthew ChicoineはDJ ・プロデューサー・ソングライター・ミュージシャンである。テクノプロデューサー Carl Craigの指導の下、1990年代にデトロイトで音楽制作を始めた。Planet E時代の初期の作品では、デトロイト市に蓄積された深い才能と繋がり、Dwele、Jeremy Ellis、Justin Chapman、Paul Randolph、Amp Fiddlerなどのローカルのアーティストと協力して、ジャズ、ソウル、サンプル、シンセを取り入れた大胆なダンスフロアサウンドを開拓した。2002年、Planet Eよりファーストアルバム『Cardiology』を発表。
Rush Hour、Peace Frog、!K7、Delusions Of Grandeur、Aus Musicからも数多くのオリジナル楽曲とリミックス作（Funkadelic、Herbert、Motor City Drum Ensemble等) をリリースしている。
ニュージーランドへ移住し、Reclooseのサウンドはさらに進化をみせた。Fat Freddy’s Drop、Lord Echoといった ニュージーランドの才能と融合し、Joe Dukie (Fat Freddy’s Drop)をフィーチャーした「Dust」といった傑作を生み出した。2008年、サードアルバム『Perfect Timing』 はNew Zealand Tui Awards にてダンス／エレクトロニカ部門ベストアルバムを受賞した。
2014年にアメリカに戻り、SeratoのArtist Relations Programを率いて、Kenny Dope、Q-Tip、Questlove、Biz Markie、Erykah Baduなどのプロジェクトをサポートした。彼は現在、ROLANDのGlobal Strategic Product Marketing Managerとしてフルタイムで働いており、現在そして将来の世代のDJやプロデューサーに向けて新しいギアの開発・マーケティングに関っている。

Matthew “Recloose” Chicoine is a veteran DJ and producer who came up making music in the 1990s Detroit under the guidance of techno producer Carl Craig. His early records for Planet E tapped into the deep talent pool of the city, working with local artists like Dwele, Jeremy Ellis, Justin Chapman, Paul Randolph, and Amp Fiddler to cultivate a different dancefloor sound inflected with jazz, soul, samples, and synths. Recloose’s sound evolved with a move to New Zealand, mixing it up with local talents Fat Freddy’s Drop, Lord Echo, and dropping musical bombs like ‘Dust’ featuring Joe Dukie in the process. Over the ensuing years Recloose continued to release dozens of records and remixes (Funkadelic, Herbert, Motor City Drum Ensemble) on k7!, Peacefrog, Rush Hour, Delusiong of Grandeur, and AUS, picking up a New Zealand Tui award for best Electronic Album in 2008. In 2014 he relocated to the US to head up Serato’s Artist Relations program, supporting and creating projects with top-shelf artists like Kenny Dope, Q-Tip, Questlove, Biz Markie, and Erykah Badu. He now resides outside of Philadelphia, working full time for Roland Corporation as their Global Strategic Product Marketing Manager, developing and marketing new gear for the current and future generations of DJs and producers.
